Missing girls found safe Found
On July 16 at 7:23 a.m., police received a report that two girls were missing from a home along Circle Drive. Karyna and Elora Cox had last been seen by their parents around midnight when they checked on the girls. Their black and gray dog was also missing. At about 8:30 a.m. July 16, Code Red was activated to alert the public. A short time later, the Coxes were found safe in the backyard of a home in the 14000 block of 158th St. N.E.
Third degree assault
On July 9 at 2:28 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of an assault at 17191 200th St. N.W. Gregory Michael Hudson, 19, Crookston, has charges pending for third degree assault. He allegedly assaulted a Thief River Falls man. Some teeth were knocked out, and the man underwent surgery on his mouth.
All-terrain vehicle accident
On July 8 at 11:56 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of an ATV accident at 19394 Center Ave. N. At the time of the accident, Dana M. Lane of Floyd, Va., was driving a 2006 Polaris Sportsman 450 and exiting a ditch in the yard. The ATV then rolled, throwing Lane and the passenger off of the vehicle. No injuries were reported to either Lane or the passenger.
Disorderly conduct and giving a false name to a peace officer
On July 11 at 2:28 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report that a woman was lying down on the road and not moving near the intersection of 130th Street Southeast and Highway 59 Southeast. Letha Matilda Humphrey, 48, Oklee, has been cited for disorderly conduct and giving a false name to a peace officer. When the sheriff’s office arrived, Humphrey allegedly stood up, swore, yelled, threw her hands in the air and was belligerent. When asked for her name, Humphrey provided a false name.
On July 4 at 3:51 p.m., police received a report of a theft at 902 Falls Ave. Harrison Owen Bayne, 21, Thief River Falls, has charges pending for theft. He allegedly stole a Husqvarna chain saw.
On July 6 at 10:03 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the parking lot of Thief River Care Center. Someone had stolen money and cigarettes out of a Middle River woman’s vehicle.
Hit and run accident
On July 7 at 5:31 p.m., police received a report of a hit and run accident in the 100 block of Markley Ave. S. An unknown motorist had collided with a parked 2007 Chevy Silverado owned by a Thief River Falls woman. The motorist then left the scene. The vehicle left paint transfers behind.
On July 10 at 3:18 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the parking lot of Country Acres Apartments. Someone had stolen license plates belonging to a Red Lake Falls man. The license plates are designated 975-TGR.
Driving while impaired
On July 10 at 11:57 p.m., police performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Seventh Street and Main Avenue. Nancy Ione Hockert, 53, Thief River Falls, has charges pending for DWI. She was arrested and later released to a sober individual.
On July 11 at 5:46 a.m., police received a report of a theft at 409 Atlantic Ave. N. Someone had stolen a 26-inch black Huffy bike with a “Mellow” sticker and a 26-inch black Schwinn bike with an “Eagle Creek” sticker.
On July 13 at 5:15 p.m., police received a report of an accident near the intersection of Third Street and Atlantic Avenue. At the time of the accident, Joan O’Neill Bakke of Thief River Falls was driving a 2013 Cadillac Escalade westbound on Third Street. According to the report, she told police that she took her eyes off of the road and looked to her left. When she looked back, a 2003 Buick Rendezvous was stopped in traffic. Her vehicle then rear-ended the westbound Rendezvous, which was driven by Michelle C. Bouffleur of Thief River Falls. The impact of the crash pushed Bouffleur’s vehicle into the rear of a westbound 2003 Ford Explorer driven by Tana M. Stauffacher of Thief River Falls. No injuries were reported.
On July 14 at 12:32 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of a burglary at 18255 138th Ave. N.E. Someone had stolen a can full of change.
On July 14 at 3:26 a.m., police received a report of burglary at 931 Reserve Ave. Someone broke into the home and stole cash.
On July 14 at 8:55 a.m., police received a report of a theft at 1019 Alice Dr. Someone had stolen a Giant mountain bike that had “Swade” written in black lettering.
