Thief River Falls Police Report 10-9-2017

Accident

On Sept. 28 at 3:11 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of an accident near the intersection of Pembina Trail Northwest and 130th Street Northwest. At the time of the accident, Sheila L. Erickson of Euclid was driving a 1997 Ford southbound on Pembina Trail Northwest. As she drove on the curves, the vehicle drove onto the shoulder. Erickson then lost control of the vehicle, which rolled in a ditch. Erickson wasn’t wearing a seat belt. She suffered unknown injuries.

Felony fifth degree controlled substance crime and gross misdemeanor fifth degree controlled substance crime

On Sept. 27 at 5:28 a.m., Pennington County law enforcement received a report that methamphetamine was found on the gaming floor at Seven Clans Casino, Hotel and Water Park. Kira Lesha Aehlert, 28, Thief River Falls, has been charged with four counts of felony fifth degree controlled substance crime. Bryan Ray Johnson, 28, Thief River Falls, has been charged with two felony counts of fifth degree controlled substance crime and two gross misdemeanor counts of fifth degree controlled substance crime. A staff member found a wallet that had been dropped on the casino floor, according to the complaints. Upon looking inside for the person’s ID, suspected meth was found. The wallet contained Aehlert’s ID. The employee and a Red Lake investigator found Aehlert and Johnson in a car in the parking lot. She allegedly tried to hide a metal box. It contained four gram-type bags of suspected meth. The trace amounts weighed a total of 1.9 grams. It also contained two Alprazolam pills, one Clonazepam pill and one Oxycodone pill. The wallet contained two bags of meth totalling 5.4 grams. A total of $260 in cash was found inside the car. Upon searching Aehlert, law enforcement allegedly found a sunglasses case containing numerous gramtype bags and a small amount of marijuana.

Theft

On Sept. 25 at 2:19 p.m., police received a report of a theft at 324 Red Lake Blvd. Someone had stolen a jogging stroller. The stroller is described as black with green trim.

Theft

On Sept. 25 at 9:45 p.m., police received a report of a theft outside of 707 Horace Ave. N. Someone had stolen a glass patio table and four chairs.

Theft

On Sept. 28 at 8:59 a.m., police received a report of a theft at Falls Liquor. Lucy Jean Barrett, 34, Red Lake, and Laura Lynn Sumner, 37, Redby, have been cited for theft. They allegedly stole alcohol.

Theft

On Sept. 28 at 12:48 p.m., police received a report of a theft at Holiday. Carlos Devon Dotson, 34, Minneapolis, has been cited for theft. He allegedly stole snowmobile oil and tried to return it. Police also determined that he stole merchandise from Kmart.

Accident

On Sept. 28 at 7:58 p.m., police received a report of an accident on Birchlane Drive. At the time of the accident, Michaela N. Lewis of Warroad was driving a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. According to the report, she sideswiped a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country driven by John S. Waskul of Roseau. No injuries were reported.
